BOILER ACCIDENT RELIEF FUND.

A final meeting of the committee appointed to superintend the management of subscriptions on behalf of the familiei who were bereaved by the late boiler accident was held at the Pacific Hotel last evenimg. Mr Thomas Hicks of the City of London mine, was voted to the chair. Mr F. F. Day, the secretary to the fund, -was requested to read the balance ,sheet, which showed that a sum of £679 7s 7d had been collected; and that the disburaments had been as follows. Paid to Mrs Weston, £125 8s; Mr* Clark, £77 4s; Miss Cook, £123 8s ; Mrs Dare, £30; Mrs Paul, £260; printing account, £16; cheque book 2« 6d;' balance, £53 5s 6d. The libilities are, on account of printing, £7 lls 6d; sundry accounts including stamps, 10s; balance £45 4a. Mr Renshaw proposed that the report as read be adopted; seconded by Mr Comer and unanimously carried. It was resolved that the balance of £45 should be equally divided amongst the children of the men killed, which would give to each child £4 10s 4d in addition to the sums already paid. A vote of thanks was given to Mr Grant for his services as Treasurer, also to the working committee. It was suggested that Mr F. F. Day's services as secretary be acknowledged by a money gift. , Mr F. F. Day promptly declined accepting any sum that would be deducted from subscriptions for the helpless. Mr Renshaw then proposed a special vote of thanks to Mr Day for his untiring exertions as secretary to the fund, carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to ' the chair terminated the proceedings.
