Dtjnedin, This day. In the Provincial . Council Stout's motion for the appointment of the Dunedin Harbor Trust, ■■ with power to borrow £200,000 to deepen the harbor, was. carried. • A. deputation from the district of Lawrence waited on the Superintendent.to ask his consideration for' a' petition requesting the expenditure of about £10,000 for a water channel to facilitate mining operations. The Superintendent, promised to bring the matter under the notice of the Executive.
