On inquiry at the hospital at three o'clock to-day we learned that very little hope is entertained of Wrfcerworfcli's recovery. His Christian same is Thomas. Mr Graualy, proprietor of the Claremont Hotel, states that there was nothing particular in the behaviour of the man when he applied for lodgings yesterday, nor were the slightest indications that he had been drinking ; and the general opinion is that suicide was resorted to as a relief to the mental anxiety induced by a complication of business affairs. It is sincerely to be hoped that the worst results will not follow the commission of the rash act, which has caused a painful;excitement throughout the community".
