| George Otto was charged that he did on the 24th day of April, at Moanatairi, [from the dwelling-house of Joseph Pear* isoni feloniously steal and carry away a •silver watch and gold guard, value £10, the property of Joseph Pearson. I The accused pleaded guilty. Mr Sub-Inspector Bullen prosecuted on the part of the police, and said he was iibrry to jhim io bring the charge, and informed the Bench that the' accused' was a runner on the evening ; paper, and the owner of the ; watch and chain, had left the property in i his house, and in his vest pocket. The | watch had been traced, but the lad had I never taken it home. Mr Bullen's request was granted.. i The boy's father pleaded that their Worships would not send the lad to gaol, asking them to deal with him summarily, and order him" io a sound whipping,'"the the father) dreading the influence of gaol associates.
