DIVORCE GRANTED
Sir Claude Auchinleck (7.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 18. General Sir Claude Auchinleck, Commander-in-Chief in India, was granted a divorce at the Sussex Assizes yesterday. Sir Claude’s friend, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Pcirse, former R.A.F. Com-mander-in-Cbief in India, was cited as corespondent. Sir Claude Auchlnleck’s case was that his wife bee?me friendly with the corespondent when they were serving together in India and later stayed with Sir Richard peirse at a Brighton Hotel after their return from India. The Court awarded costs against the corespondent. Sixty-one-years-old Sir Claude Auchinleck married Miss Jessie Stewart in 1921.
