Women’s Institute

A sales table display of Institute handwork and various bowls of flowers lent a festive' appearance to the hall for the Institute’s December meeting. Funds benefited considerably from the sales table and a Christmas cake competition. Letters of thanks for parcels were read from Dypna Kane, Margaret Knight and James Russell. Items were presented by the pupils of Mrs Christiansen. Competitions were won by Miss Arden. Nona Tate, Mesdames Dobson, M. A. Russell and Barber. The monthly competitions resulted: Large bloom, Mrs Kane 1, Mrs Johnston 2, Mrs Russell 3: small bloom, Mrs Kane 1, Miss E. Arden 2. Mrs Johnston 3; peas, Mrs Russell.
