It is learned that the British and American Governments suggested to Russia on November 27 a revision of the Italian armistice terms at the request of Italy, states the correspondent of the Associated Press in Moscow. The Italians, it is reported, were anxious for the Allies to proceed beyond the point reached at the conference of Foreign Ministers in London. They feel that the delay in settling the matter is adversely affecting the nation, which is at present struggling to regain its feet. The Russians have so far not replied to the suggestion. Britain is consulting with other governments on the question of control in Austria in the light of the Austrian elections, said the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs (Air Hector McNeil). He added that Britain would be glad to see a reduction in the number of occupying armies, but the decision did not rest with her alone. The four occupying Powers reached an agreement at a meeting of the Allied Control Commission to assure food suplies for Berlin until April. 1946. The commission also issued a proclamation ordering the dissolution of all German military sports organisations.
