Prince Nashimoto TOKIO, Decembei 3. The Foreign Minister, Shugeru Yoshida, formally requested a reprieve for Prince Mor’ asa Nashimoto. Prince Nashimoto, in an intel view, said: “I had nothing whatsoever to do with the war. I feel the same as you about Tojo. I was honorary chairman of various organisations for military arts, but others did the real work.” Proud and unapologetic, FieldMarshal Shunroku Hata. who was the Emperor's chief aide-de-ca up told the Press: “I will take responsibility for all operations while commander-in-chief in China. I expected this. I feel the responsibility of the war.” Prince Nashimoto and Field-Marshal Hata were among the 59 prominent Japanese arrested as war crimes suspects on an order isued by General MacArthur
