SAKHALIN FISHERIES
Restoration By Soviet MOSCOW, November 30. The Russian fishing industry in the Kuriles and southern Sakhaiins is to be restored and modernised. The Soviet Far Eastern fishingfleet will be doubled by 1946, said the Commissar of Fisheries. The Kuriles fisheries and those sections of Kamchatka leased to the Japanese were badly damaged by American bombings, but fishing industry engineers and workers are being transferred from the Caspian to help in the work of reconstruction.
