INCREASE GRANTED

Rehabilitation Allowances (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON. Dec. 4. An increase in the amount of rehabilitation allowance payable fo married ex-servicemen with children was announced to-day. The increase, which is effective from December 2 will bring the weekly amount pavable for each child fo 10/with no limit as to the number of children.

In the nast 6/- has been payable for each child with a limit of five children. or 30 - a week. The maximum rates payable lo the serviceman himself and his wife remain unchanged. The alteration has been made tp bring the rehabilitation allowance into line witli the family benefit rate paid under I.lie Social Security scheme, and with the demobilisation allowance introduced in July of this year, which is also administered by the Social Security Department.. Until the end of October the amount paid out in rehabilitation allowances totalled £518.031
