NAVY LEAGUE GIFT
Appreciated In England
A case of children’s clothing dispatched from Timaru by the Paparoa in August has been delivered to the Navy League, London, and a letter of appreciation has been received by the Timaru branch of the League. The British Sailors’ Society, which ft the distributing agent for the League, has a welfare department ready to help the seamen if he is in need, or his family. This clothing from Timaru was more than welcome and would be distributed to merchant seamen’s families, the writer advised. “If it had not been for t|<e good friends like yourselves from overseas and at home who have helped us so generously during the war, we should not have been able to carry on our good work.” she continued. Another case of clothing was sent from tbe Timaru Navy League to London by the Samstrae last month and there is a case of tinned food ready for shipment.
