BRAZIL SITUATION
Elections To Be Held (12.10 a.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 31. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Schnor Jose Linhares) after taking the oath, said that the Brazilian elections would be held on December 2. He would govern the country as a jurist until the elected president took office. No political prisoners were taken during the changeover. There was no
thought of taking any in the future. Dr. Getulio Vargas (the deposed president) will fly to his home in Southern Brazil to-morrow.
