DEATH ANNOUNCED

Colonel J. H. Nankivell (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. Colonel John H. Nankivell. formerly military attache at the United States Legation in Wellington, died at Denver, Colorado, on September 28. Colonel Nankivell. who was one of the most popular and respected members of the Diplomatic Corps, relinquished his post in Wellington on June 22 and returned to. the United States with the intention of retiring. He was appointed military attache on the staff of Brigadier-General Patrick Hurley in April, 1942. Born in Christchurch and educated in Wellington and Petone, he went to the United States in 1904. and later entered the United States Army.
