BOMB-WRECKED SOFIA
Thousands Homeless SOFIA, October 12. The special court handling requests for lodgings in bombwrecked Sofia reported that petitions had been received in the last few months from 36,000 homeless people. Space was found to settle only four persons. It is estimated that at least 25 per cent of Sofia was razed by explosives and fire. The clearance of wreckage and new construction is proceeding rapidly in anticipation of the winter. Tire lack of materials is a hindrance. “A central course for agitators” has been started by the Bulgarian Fatherland Front Party as part of intensive preparations for the elections on November 18. Similar courses will soon be started in the provinces.
