BELGRADE, August 22. The Yugoslav Government has asked the Allies to hand over Ila.i Ami el Husseini, former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, as a war criminal. The Grand Mufti visited Bosnia during the German occupation and
allegedly organised a “Hanji” SS division consisting of Bossnian Moslems. They were accused of handingover to the Germans a number of British and American airmen forced down in Bosniai> forest;
The death has occurred of Sir Ronald Lindsay, aged 68. Attached to the British Diplomatic Service, Sir Ronald was stationed from time to time in most European capitals. He was British Ambassador in Istanbul 1924-25, Berlin 1926-28. and Washington 19301939. From 1928 to 1930 he was Permanent Under-Secretary of State, Foreign Office.
