't rade With Cook Islands.—Measures to improve shipping facilities to the Cook Islands are being considered by the Government, states the annual report of the Islands Administration. The trade has suffered severely during the war years as it has been uneconomic to divert the only other ship available, that trading between New Zealand and the Fiji-Samoa area, to the Cook Islands. Fortunately, says the report the frequent engine troubles experienced in operating the Maui Pornare prior to 1942 have been fully overcome since the installation of new engines, but Ibe ship has continued to run at a loss.
