Awarded K.B.E. GUAM, August 17. Sir Bruce Fraser (Commander of the British Pacific Fleet) presented Admiral W. F. Halsey (Commander of the U.S. Third Fleet) with the insignia of the K.B.E. Vice-Admiral Sir Bernard Rawlings broadcasting from Admiral Halsey’s flagship declared that the welding of the two great armadas might point the way in which democracy would march forward. The two Navies in peacetime should meet and work together periodically for the world’s future.
