BIG OPERATION PLANNED

Eve Of Victory (11.35 p.m.) MANILA, Aug. 15. A correspondent on Okinawa said that one of the biggest operations of the war by Far East Air Forces was planned for Wednesday. News of the war arrived on a hot muggy day and was discussed with mingled joy and scenticism by servicemen lolling under the shade of trees. Many were hardly able to believe there would be no more bloody beach-heads to win.
