WAIMATE CLUB Playing in the third round of the Waimate Golf Club’s handicap singles knock-out (Mitchell Cup), C. G. Holmes beat I. H. Schrader, A. H. Guy beat R. C. Morgan, and J. Mitchell won by default. This competition has now entered the semi-final stage, though there is one outstanding mateh in the third round. A “hidden partners’’ medal round resulted—C. G. Holmes (103-22-81) and M. Leadbetter (87-8-79), total 160; I. H. Schrader (93-14-79) and G. McBrearty (111-24-87), total 166; R. Maslin <B3-12-71 and E. Earnshaw (120-24-96), total 167; G. S. Collett (95-14-81), and W. Hill (112-24-88), total 169. The match on Saturday next is the semi-final of the four-ball bogey handicap knockout, with a four-ball bogey (choose own partners) for those not in the knockout.
