OLD AGE PENSIONERS

Sir, —On behalf of the old pensioners and myself I would iike to draw the attention of Members of Parliament to taxation, which amounted to £65 a head last year. We receive £B4 TO a year pension, so we have only £l9 10 to provide shelter, food, clothes, light and firing. It. is impossible to live in anything like comfort. We have had the hal'd times in the depression and after that we went on the pension. We have never had a chance to pick up and replace anything wanted in the house. Now in this cold weather and with the price of everything it is very hard for us old pioneers. We have to thank our Mayor, Mr A. E. S. Hanan; for the help and sympathy he has given us.—l am, etc. Pensioner.
