“NOT THE VOICE OF THE KIWI”
Criticism Of R.S.A. (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 31. Declaring that the R.S.A. was not the voice of the Kiwi, some criticism was made of the former body by Mr E. L. Thwail.es. president of the Second N.Z.E.F. Association, who spoke at its first annual conference which opened to-day. Some people, he said, have wondered why the conference was held so soon after the conference of the Returned Services’ Association. “After all.” he said, “this war was fouglx’ by the Kiwis, and it is unfortunate that at. the conference lust held it was not the voice of the Kiwi whi<’. was heard. We are gathered to discuss matters which vitally concern us. Far too much publicity has been given 1.0 minor matters and so far as the soldiers’ views are given to the public on these matters they do not represent, the opinion of the Kiwi We note, with pleasure the subsidising oi men of the last war by gifts of rash to the R.S.A. and confidently anticipate •■iits of similar nature to the Kiwis.”
