Homes For Soldiers The July meeting of the Geraldine Rehabilitation Committee was presided over by Mr A. J. Kennedy. After a discussion on the position re- | garding housing in Geraldine, it was resolved that the Mayor (Mr D. C. i McKechnie i be requested to bring his ! influence to bear in an endeavour to | expedite the completion of the four : State licuses at present under coni' struction and a commencement made I with tlie erection of more such residences. The chairman reported that the Mayor had indicated his willingness to I preside at the meeting to be addressed I by the rehabilitation officer in the Town I Hall on August 29. I _ Card Tournament At the fortnightly euchre tournament conducted by the Catholic Women's Committee the following were the winners: Mrs W. E. Foster, Mrs George Tagg, Mr A. J. Kerr and Mr J. Quill. Hard Frost In Geraldine yesterday morning a frost of 15 degrees was registered by Mi A. J. Blakiston, Raukapuka.
