July 23. , The employees, at two footwear faci tories in the Wellington area decided j unanimously at meetings to-day against I direct action or a suggested 50 per cent go-slow policy in regard to production as the result of wage anomalies which are claimed to exist in tha trade in some centres following the general order. Marston, secretary of the ; Wellington Union, gave a 15 minute i talk to the employees to-day. At the ! conclusion of each meeting the em- ! plovees voted to take no action until I the expirv of their present award in | April next year, when they will meet j the employers in council.
