N. Campbell) yesterday. Mr Campbell summarised the loans as follows:—For furniture (limit of £lOO, free of interest) 127 grants amounting to £11,173. an average of £B7 to each applicant; lor tools of trade (£5O free of interest), 16 grants amounting to £603, average £37; for businesses (£500), 31 grants amounting to £14,149, average £457: for farms (£6250 for sheep. £5OOO for dairy farms). 35 grants amounting to £122.470, average £3500; for residences (£lsooi, 67 grants amounting to £65.250. average £374.
