LARGE OFFERINGS Capacity yardings were forward for yesterday’s sale at Temuka. About 3000 fat lambs of mixed quality were offered to exporters and met with keen competition. The sale of fat sheep was also a large one, fully three races being offered. These sold at late rates. About 120 head of fat cattle were on offer, but as the quality was mixed and a lot of unfinished beef was forward, the market was not as good as of late. Dairy cattle sold well. Values were — Fat Cattle.—Steers, best, £l2 to £l4/17/6; others £lO to £ll/17/6; cows, best, £9 to £l3/7/6; medium, £7 to £B/17/6; light, £5/17/6 to £6/17/6; heifers, extra good, £l2 to £l4/2/6; good, £lO to £ll/17/6; medium, £8 to £9/17/6; light, £7 to £7/17/6. Store and Dairy Cattle. —Bulls to £10; empty cows and heifers, £2/15/to £6; dairy cows and heifers, £l2 to £l7. Fat Sheep.—Wethers, extra good, 40/- to 44/4; good, 36/- to 39/7; medium, 32/- to 35/10; light, 29/- to 31/-; ewes, best. 24/- to 27/4; medium. 21/- to 23/10; light, 16/- to 20/-. Fat Lambs. -Prime, 28/- to 31/4; good, 25/- to 27/10; medium, 22/- to 24/10; light, 17/- to 20/-. 'Pigs.—Best weaners, 22/- to 26/-; small to medium, 14/- to 20/-; slips to 35/-; stores, 36/- to 50/-. RABBITSKIN SALE VALUES FIRMER (N.Z.P.A.) DUNEDIN, June 12. Approximately 69 tons of rabbitskins were offered at to-day’s sale. There was keen competition and a strong demand for all grades. Values as compared with the previous auction can be quoted firmer as follows:—Low grades, 2d to 7d per lb, autumns and incomings par to 6d per lb., early winters par to 9d per lb, but early winter does in some cases showed a greater appreciation. All grades of winters were in strong demand and best winter bucks and docs realised up to 208 d per lb.
