BURMA FRONT
Japanese Suicide Tactics (1.28 a.m.) LONDON. May 30. The Japanese are using suicide tactics along the Toungoo-Mawchi road in an effort to stem the British and Indian advance, says the correspondent of the British Associated Press in Burma. The “banzai” tactics are helping to delay the 19th Indian Division’s advance, but the monsoon and the bad terrain are also hampering operations. It is reported that troops of the Seventh Indian Division inflicted manv casualties on the Japanese who have been attacking in the Irrawaddy sector.
