Farewell Evening

There was a large attendance ot residents to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs F. Henshaw, who have disposed of their farm, at Nukuroa.

Mrs J. Hayman spoke on behalf of the Institute and Red Cross, and presented a spray to Mrs Henshaw. Mr F. Sanders spoke on behalf of the Tennis Club, Mr C. Rollinson on behalf of R.S.A. and School Committee, Mr Scarlett (church). Mr W. Fletcher (Farmers’ Union). Mr Lindsay (residents) and Mr Borthwick (Welfare Committee).

Mr Lindsay presented the guests with two fireside chairs. Master A. Henshaw was presented with an envelone from the Tennis Club, and Miss Henshaw with a trinket box. Several items were given, including some by the school children. Mr Henshaw suitably replied. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing.
