Canadians Volunteer
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 14. Volunteers from Canadians overseas will be more than adequate to provide one division with ancillary troops for the Pacific, which ft is reported is all that Canada will be asked to supply, said the Premier of Saskatchewan (Mr W. J. Patterson) on his return from a visit to Europe. Those Canadian troops who volunteer for service in the East will be the first to be sent home. They will be given 30 days’ furlough and then will be recalled for training and transport to the Pacific. The Canadian Press war correspondent, Mi' Ross Munro, says the Canadian force for the Pacific will serve with the American forces. It will be organised on American lines and use American equipment. It is learned that the Cabinet is considering the pay scale which is likely to increase for each six months of service.
