TREASON CHARGE

Conviction Quashed WASHINGTON. April 23. The Supreme Court in a 5 to 4 majority decision set aside the conviction of treason against Anthony Cramer, who was sentenced to 45 years’ imprisonment and fined 10.900 dollars for aidin” the Nazi saboteurs, since executed, who landed at New York from a submarine in 1943. The Court said it did not purport to set aside the conviction for lack of sufficient evidence and traitorous intent, but freed Cramer on the ground that' overt acts on which he was charged were insufficient under constitutional requirements.
