Interest On Loans Waived (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 18. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union the following motion was carried:— “That this meeting of delegates strongly recommends that the Council give immediate relief to those Unions which are in shortened circumstances, and that the waiving of all interest charges on loans be the immediate basis of relief on condition that the Unions submit a statement of their financial position. - ' It was agreed that it be a recommendation to the Council to arrange for teams to visit those Unions which had had difficulty in keeping the game going during the war years. A motion to rescind a previous motion concerning the prohibition of granting loans during he war years was carried. Notice of motion by the Auckland Union to the effect that the Council should consist of a president, two vicepresidents and 13 members elected at the annual meeting was carried by a large majority. On the recommendation of the Council, Mr A. A. Adams (West Coast) was elected a life member of the Union. The meeting endorsed a recommendation by the Council that League players serving in the Armed Forces who wished to continue their association with the Rugby Union code could do so after the war by signing an application to that effect, which would be forwarded by the Union to the Council for formal approval.
