Advice’ has been received by Mrs Burtenshaw, York Street, that her son, Corporal Keith Burtenshaw, who was a prisoner of war in Stalag VIII A has arrived in England, and is well. Mr S. D. Munn, Railways transport officer, Dunedin, is acting as stationmaster at Timaru during the absence of Mr A. Black on holiday leave. Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs W. Charteris, that their son, W.0.11 Charles Allandale Charteris, has arrived safely in England after being a prisoner of war in Stalag VIII A for three years. The appointment of Mr Elvm Seibert as Second Secretary of the Legation and Consul of the United States in Wellington is gazetted. Lieutenant-Colonel G. J. O. Stewart has been promoted colonel and appointed commander of artillery, Second N.Z.E.F., vice Brigadier R. C. Queree. Captain (temp.-major) G. F. Yerex ceases to be seconded to the Department of Internal Affairs and is posted to the retired list with the rank of major.
