(Special) CHRISTCHURCH. Mar. 31. Lance Wing and Gunga Din ran a very good mile in 1.42 2-5 on the outside of the course this morning, with the former holding his mate at the end. Lord Advocate led First In and Immediate over six furlongs in 1.16 2-5 Justitia being beaten off. Donegal Bay ran five furlongs comfortably m 13'3-5. while Gigli was in front of Al-Sirat in 1.2 3-5. Kashmiri being well back. Bridge Acre was a length in front of Lord Nuffield over half a mile in 49 3-5 Longsword ran five furlongs easily in 1.3 3-5. Whackie and Joygiver ran five in 1.2 2-5. while Golden Souvenir. Sing Sing and Royal Rae were in line at the end of six m I.lb 4-5 These were the best of the mornings gallops. Typhoon was given only Dace work. „ , It is expected that First In will be ridden bv L. J. Clutterbuck and Royal Rae bv A. Messerv.v. with both horses darting in the Great Easier Handicap, while L J. Ellis has been engaged ior Silver Sal in the Autumn Plate. Behave and Iron Duke have been withdrawn from the Champagne Stakes, while Iron Duke has also gone out o. the Russley Plate, in which only one more scratching is required to avoid Fairv Bard, on his schooling here, is an exceptionally brilliant juniper, but the type that is liable to blunder badly if he hits a hurdle.
