Youthful Driver.—The fact that at the age of 15 r reservist was driving for a carrying company was revealed at a sitting o. the Southland Armed Forces Appeal Board. The appellant in the case, a carrier, referred to the reservist as his No. 1 driver. “This boy is only 20 years of age and you say he is your No. 1 driver ?” said Mr D. W. Stalker (a member of the Board). “That is so,” replied the appellant, who added in response to another question that the reservist had been driving for five years. Mr Stalker; He was driving a lorry when he was 15? The appellant: Yes. Mr Stalker: What did Mr Semple have to say to that? “We got a permit,” was the reply.
