LORD NUFFIELD
Arrival In Dominion
(N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 30. Lord Nuffield, the famous British industrialist and philanthropist, arrived from Sydney by the flying-boat on a visit extending over five days. Declining to give interviews, or addresses, he emphasised that his visit was purely in the nature of a holiday. At his request there was no formal reception at the air base. He was greeted on his arrival by Sir Charles Norwood, of Wellington, national president of the Crippled Children’s Society, and deputy-chairman of the Nuffield Trust, who will act as his host while he is in the Dominion. Remarkably active for his 67 full years, Lord Nuffield looked fit and sun-tanned after his visit to Australia. He will leave on Thursday for Rotorua. He will return to Auckland on Sunday, and will leave for Sydney by the flying-boat on Monday.
