Prices Reduced By Committee Sitting At Timaru A number of applications for consent to sell properties were granted by the Canterbury Rural Land Sales Committee, which sat in Timaru yesterday, but approval was only given in most cases subject to a reduction in the price asked. Mr W. H. Nicholls presided and associated with him w’ere Messrs B. S. Robertson and W. O. Rennie. Mr E. J. Lynskey represented the Crown and Messrs J. J. Keppel and A. R. King gave evidence as Government valuers. The following transactions were approved: Property of 33.8 perches, nineroomed w’ooden dwelling, at the corner of North Street and Grey Road, £1075. Four-roomed wooden cottage on 16 perches at 30 York Street, £4OO, being a reduction from £475.
Property of 32.4 perches, five-room-ed wooden house, at 12 Orbell Street, £825. being a reduction from £950. Five-roomed wooden house on 13.5 perches at 21 Harper Street, £690, being a reduction from £BOO.
Property of 1 acre 18.2 perches, fiveroomed wooden house, Evans Street near Showgrounds, £B7O, the price being reduced from £950.
Brick villa on 20 perches at 117 Church Street, £630, being a reduction from £750. Store, with five living rooms and kitchenette attached, on 1 rood 30.5
perches at Gleniti, £1350 (freehold £l2OO, goodwill £150) being a reduction from £1450 (freehold £l2OO, goodwill £250. ■
