KENNEL CLUB

All Breed Challenge Show Keen Competition The tenth all breed challenge show conducted by the South Canterbury Kennel Club proved one of the most successful in Its history. A feature which was unique in the experience of the competitors, who came from points as far apart as Hutt Valley and Dunedin, was the payment of the prize money when the judging was completed, the usual practice being to forward the cheques by mail. Much of the efficient organisation was due to the honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr T V. Cooke, who, with the president, Mr W. Smith, the show manager, Mr H. A. Toneycliffe, and the committee were responsible for the successful arrangements. The judge, Mr F. Redfearn, of Gisborne. said that the show had been extremely well conducted. A very good class of dog had been exhibited, some of the Cocker Spaniels and Alsatians being outstanding. During the evening the Mayor, Mr A. E S. Hanan, who congratulated the Kennel Club on conducting such a successful show, expressed his appreciation of members staging a special ribbon parade in aid or the patriotic funds last year.
