DUKE OF GLOUCESTER
Secretly Farewelled
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 26. When the Duke of Gloucester left London to take up the position of Governor-General of Australia he and the Duchess were farewelled by the King and Queen, the Duchess of Kent, and other prominent personages. For security reasons their departure was kept secret, but word quickly flashed round the station and soon a crowd of several hundred gathered at the barricades. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and their two sons, with their nurses, joined the train at a country station.
