Gift Evenings Residents of Orari and surrounding districts assembled at the Orari Coronation Hall to wish Miss Doreen Maxwell happiness in her approaching marriage. On behalf of the organisers Mr E. R. O’Neill asked the guest to accept many gifts. Mr Geo. Birdling endorsed Mr O’Neill’s remarks and Mr D. F. Sugrue replied on behalf Of Miss Maxwell. On Thursday night Miss Maxwell was met by the Directors of the Orari Dairy Company when the chairman <Mr S. R. Muff) presented her with a substantial cheque and best wishes from the directors and suppliers of the company. On Saturday evening at the residence of Mr and Mrs G. E. Birdling. “ Alfadale,” Orari, neighbours tendered a kitchen evening to Miss Maxwell. Personal Seaman Leslie Vemall is at present on leave and is visiting his parents Mr and Mrs D. Vernail, Orari. Mr Lawrence Patrick, who has been an inmate of the Braeside Hospital where he underwent an operation, has returned home to Orari.
