School Break-up The school break-up and picnic were held in the school grounds and there was a good attendance of parents and friends. The sole teacher, Miss Tizard, gave an account of the year’s work. Mr F. Shewan congratulated Miss Tizard on the splendid display of work done by the children, and Marjory Howden presented her with a bouquet. Elizabeth Hartnett 1, Pauline Shewan 2, Rosemary Catherwood 3 Under 11, Josephine Catherwood 1, Dawn Shewan and Betty Munro (equal) 2. Under 12. Eleanor Camnbell 1. Daphne Loach 2. Under 14, Joyce Cooper 1, Marjory Greibell 2, Jean Munro 3. Pick-a-back race, J. and M. Cooper 1, J. and D. Catherwood 2, M. Greibell and D. Shewan 3. Women’s race, Doris Butler 1. Audrey French 2. Afternoon tea was supplied, and also ice creams for the children.
