OK AR I The Orari school children, under Miss White, were thanked by the president, Mrs Macdonald, for their carols, songs and recitations at the December meeting of the Orari Women’s Institute. Mrs Macdonald asked for warm clothing, second-hand, made up for children and others for disposal to Greece. Parcels could be left with Mrs Macdonald or other members of the Oran Red Cross. The “golden thread.” a talk on native birds, was given by Mrs Henderson. Miss Unwin gave particulars of dressing for preserving leather. A copy of “Pioneer Tales” is to be sent to the link at Trumpington, England. The picnic in January will be held at Orari Estate. Miss White played the accompaniments for the Christmas carols. Competition winners were: Single bloom. Miss H. Unwin. Mrs Bennett, Mrs Payne and Mrs Macdonald (equal' 3; cluster, Mrs R. Payne 1, Mrs Barrell 2, Mrs Macdonald 3; jar of flowers. Mrs Watson 1.
