HOUSE TO LET
Deluge Of Applicants (N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 21. The almost forgotten sight of an advertisement for an unfurnished house to let resulted in an Auckland agent being besieged by callers and telephone applications. On Thursday evening and yesterday 500 persons telephoned and 300 called at his office, packing the corridors and overflowing down the stairs. A bungalow at -Birkenhead was offered for 30/- a week on lease. Ton calls came from as far away as Rotorua. In order to ensure that a deserving tenant secures the house, the agent is conferring with the City Council housing authorities.
