RAIN COMES TOO LATE
Riverina District SYDNEY, October 2. Rain is falling in the Riverina district. but it has come too late to save the crops which, it is estimated, would have been worth £10,000.009. Farmers declare hat even two' or three inches of min would make no more than a slighi improvement in the position. So far dnl.v five points of rain have tallen. The rainfall in the district this year is the lowest since 1902,
