FEATHER WEIGH r TITLE (7.30 pin ) NEW YORK. Sept. 30. Willie Pep gained a decision over Chalky Wright in a 15-round featherweight title bout in Madison Square Garden. Pep’s dazzling speed, lightning left jabs and superior ring generalship kept his veteran opponent, off balance throughout. Pep wrested the title from Wright in November, 1942.
