REMAND GRANTED

Motorist Before Court Facing a charge of being found in a state of intoxication in charge of a motor-vehicle in Otipua Road on July 2. Wallace Finlay pleaded not guilty before Mr H. Morgan. S.M., in the Timaru Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He was represented by Mr G. J. Walker. Because witnesses were not available yesterday, Sergeant E. J. C. Hay applied for a remand until July 10, this being granted by the Magistrate, who fixed bail at £25 in the accused’s own recognisance with one approved surety of £25. In the Children’s Court, before Mr Morgan, charges of breaking telephone insulators at Pareora were preferred against three boys aged 11, 12 and 13. None of tlie boys appeared and Mr P. R. Kennedy, boys’ welfare officer, asked for an adjournment for a fortnight. This was granted by the Magistrate.
