FAIR TO FINE The following is the forecast for South Canterbury issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the period ended 5 p.jn. to-day— Winds.—Moderate south-westerly winds, freshening at times on the coast. FINE WEEK-END Although fine and sunny, the week-end was cold with a strong south-west wind. Following are the records taken at Timaru Park for the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. on Saturday with the exception of the maximum temperature and sunshine for the day, which were taken at 7 p.m.:— Max. temperature in shade: 47.8. Alio, temperature on grass: 26.2. Frost : 5.8 degrees. Wind: W.5.W.3. Rainfall: Nil. Sunshine: 7.8 hours.
