County Rate Collections

The Waimate County Council has bettered its own record of last year in the matter of rate collections. The penalty on rates outstanding came into force on Tuesday, and at that date collections totalled 98.8 per cent of a total rate struck of £28,873, leaving £339/7/4 unpaid. Last year the collections were a record up to that time 98.4 being paid at the date the penalty was imposed, £446 being outstanding. Thus the Council has surpassed last year's rating collections by 4 per cent
