ENGAGEMENT
Mr and Mrs R. Richards. Raukapuka, Geraldine, announce the engagement of their only, daughter, Helen Gwenllian, to Archibald James, elder son of Mrs F. I. Parr, “Rokanui,” Woodbury, and the late Mr James Parr.
The following were the winners of the competitions at the weekly dance of the Gaiety Dance Club: Mr T. Loach and Miss C. Jackson, Mr Peebles and Miss M. Bevan, Sgt. Ripply and Miss Collins. The tobacco packing section of the National Patriotic Fund Board on Tuesday received its one hundred thousandth order, under the postal tobacco service instituted two years ago for the benefit of the New Zealand forces overseas. The orders have Increased as the advantages of this service have become known, and packing is being done by night as well as by day with the assistance of spare time helpers whose services are much appreciated.
