Tribute To United States

(Rec. 7.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 16. As a tribute to the United States, the latest Australian-built Tribal class destroyer has been named Bataan. She was launched in a New South Wales dockyard by Mrs MacArthur, wife af General MacArthur. When the Australian cruiser Canberra was lost the United States named her latest built cruiser Canberra. These graceful tributes, said Mr Nelson Johnson, United States Minister to Australia, symbolise tl» cooperation between * Australia and America.
