Peter Pan’s Corner

:: DEAREST LITTLE PEOPLE ;; First of all 1 leant to send a big "Thank you.” to all those circlians who sent in scrapbooks, and Io offer congratulations to j; the winners. The books were really beautiful, and will now be •; bringing great joy to children in the Timaru Hospital.. H But there was one disappointing fact. This year there were not so many books as usual. Perhaps it was because the competition was not announced soon enough, so we are making an early it start this time, and announcing it right away. Special prizes will be given again for Xmas scrapbooks, so everyone can start right if now, to collect pictures, stories, jokes and rhymes. It was with pride and pleasure that I saw the care and thought ;• you had taken with these books; and 1 know, my circlians. that ;; it is not because of the prizes that you spend so many hours in the H making of them. ;; Some of you have already sent in your New 1 ear mottoes, the result of which competition will be published next week. I think •• one of my favourites is this:—“Love took up the Harp of Life •; And smote on all the chords with might. :: Smote the chord of Self, which trembling. ;j Passed in music out of sight.” I hope many of my circlians will think of this motto, and make ft 1944 s number of scrapbooks the biggest on record. I want, too, to send another big “Thank you.” to all those ft circlians who sent me Xmas wishes, Xmas cards, and Xmas gifts. ♦♦ It was a proud Peter Pan. who opened the Xmas mail. One circlian H wrote recently that it made him feel “all happy inside.” to see the t: lovely (lowers in his garden. It made me feel all happy inside. •t too, to know that so many of you had thought of Peter Pan at H Xmas time. ft The third “Thank you,” I want to send (and it is a big one), is ;j to all those who have helped to keep our flag flying in these tt difficult days of war; those circlians who by their keenness and ♦; loyalty have made our little corner so bright and merry. Who tt knows but that before 1944 is over, our corner may once more ft grow into a paper! What celebrations we will have then! I hope you are all having splendid holidays, and making tt yourselves fit and strong for another years work. Happy days, and tt Lots of Love tt From Your Own tt PETER PAN
