Young Flight Sergeant Decorated FORMERLY OF WAIMATE Flight Sergeant G. W. Burness, who was recently awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal, is the second son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Burness, of Hook. He is 22 years of age and before joining the Royal New Zealand Air

Force was employed at the C.F.C.A., Ltd.’s garage at Waimate. Flight Sergeant Burness did most of his training in New Zealand and went to England 18 months ago. Mr and Mrs Burness have two other sons serving overseas, one in the Air Force in England and the other in the Pacific.
